Excel Rescue

Repair a corrupted Excel file

Excel says the file is damaged or won't open? Excel Rescue checks the workbook structure, shows exactly what's broken, recovers the data that is still readable and gives you a clean, verified .xlsx.

How it works

  1. 01
    Upload the broken .xlsx

The file is checked in your browser — it is never uploaded.

  2. 02
    Read the recovery report

See which parts are damaged, which sheets were recovered and how many cells are readable. Preview the data.

  3. 03
    Download the repaired file

We re-open the rebuilt workbook to verify it before offering it. If it can't be verified, we say so.

Frequently asked questions

What kind of damage can be repaired?+

Truncated or partly overwritten files (e.g. an interrupted download or save), damaged ZIP structure, broken internal links between workbook and sheets, and damaged XML inside sheets. We recover every cell that is still readable.

What is not recovered?+

Values, text, formulas and date formats are kept. Colors, fonts, borders, column widths, charts, images and macros are not carried over to the repaired file.

Can you recover a password-protected file?+

No. Encrypted workbooks can't be read without the password, and SheetFix does not break passwords.

What if nothing can be recovered?+

The report will tell you honestly. Then try Excel's File → Open → “Open and Repair”, OneDrive/SharePoint version history, or a backup.

Is my file uploaded?+

No. The diagnosis and repair run entirely in your browser; the file never leaves your device.
